Joyce
Locke is part owner of Gene-Del Printing &
Publishing. Joyce is in charge of the pre-press
department and Editor/Design Director of The Pulse Newspaper
where she enjoys bringing local news to Brentwood and
surrounding communities.
In
2000, Gene and Delores Dodel semi retired and turned the
business they founded in 1973 over to Joyce, her sister Peggy,
her brothers Keith and Eric Dodel, and her nephew Sean Dodel. During
Joyce's senior year in high school, she had enough credits to
attend school half days. She'd then go to Gene-Del
Printing where she'd work until 7 p.m. After graduating
in 1979, Joyce joined the business full time as a bookkeeper. Joyce
performed almost every task at Gene-Del, (including running a
printing press), until she found her niche in the pre-press
department - first learning how to run a type setting machine
and later teaching herself how to use a computer. Joyce,
her siblings and nephew, along with their staff, as well as
the "semi retired" Gene and Delores, are devoted to
continue the business in the personable and professional
manner it began and has continued to be over the years of
growth. Joyce accepted her position on the Chamber Board
to continue their long-standing business and community
involvement in Brentwood. Joyce
and her husband David have two children, Ian and Cassidy. The
Locke's enjoy spending as much time together as possible
camping, boating and riding their four-wheelers. FYI
- You can find The Pulse newspaper in racks at various
locations in Brentwood and surrounding communities. The
paper is issued monthly and delivered to every household in
Brentwood. You may also pick one up at Gene-Del Printing
or go to www.genedel.com
to view online. |
