Lorraine
has truly devoted herself to the Brentwood community.
She began a career working for the city of Brentwood in 1967
as the Police Department's Deputy Court Clerk and Secretary to
the Chief of Police. Throughout her 30 year career at
City Hall, she served in almost every position with her last 9
years serving as Deputy City Clerk. She also served as
President of the Eastern Division of Missouri City Clerks
consisting of 90 municipalities.
Throughout those
30 years and to this day, Lorraine has always volunteered and
been an active Brentwood citizen serving the Community.
After her retirement she was appointed to serve on the
Planning & Zoning Commission. She resigned that seat
when she was elected as Alderwoman in Ward 4 - Brentwood
Forest - where she resides and has served on the Board there
for many years.
Lorraine raised
her four children here in Brentwood, all of whom attended the
Brentwood school system. She was very involved with her
children and school activities while working full time at the
City. Having two boys and two girls, she was involved in
both the Boy and Girl Scout programs.
Once her
children were grown, she began volunteering even more of her
time and energy to various Brentwood Community activities and
causes. She was Chairman of the Maddenfest Committee
(now known as Brentwood Days) from 1979 to 1993. This
included the 60th anniversary celebration in 1979, the 70th
anniversary in 1989 and she was called back to assist in the
75th anniversary in 1994. Lorraine received the
Chamber's Citizen of the Year award in 1998.
As far as the
Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, here again Lorraine gets called
back for her knowledge and service. She is the only
President ever elected for 2 different terms. Even after
her 2nd term, the Chamber wouldn't let her go and she now
serves on the Board of Directors. Lorraine is our
liaison with the City of Brentwood where she holds her
Alderwoman seat also serving on the committees of Public
Safety, Ways & Means as well as Human Resources.
In her spare
time, which we don't know how she finds, she enjoys spending
time with her family, which includes nine grandchildren.
